The first trailer for the remake of A Star Is Born, featuring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, has been released. It is also Cooper’s first feature film as director, as well as Lady Gaga’s first significant film acting role. Gaga plays an aspiring singer whose career begins to take off after she meets Cooper’s washed up country singer Jackson Maine. The movie also marks Cooper’s directorial debut and features the actor singing live. A portion of the film was shot during Coachella in 2017.
To see Lady Gaga in a never seen before version is refreshing, she has bared herself and Bradley is a new take of Cooper. They go all country for this musical…
The footage opens with him standing before a massive audience, singing a ballad that includes the lyric “Maybe it’s time to let the old ways down.” To add to the authenticity, Cooper and Gaga performed at Coachella and at Glastonbury, where they shared the same stage as Kristofferson. The movie is all about live singing and no playbacks, which is going to be refreshing for sure.
Clint Eastwood attempted to get the film made for years, and it is finally happening this October 2018. This is the fourth version of A Star Is Born: after its original creation in 1937, it was remade with Judy Garland and James Mason in 1954, and with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson in 1976.
Cannot wait for this musical to hit the right chords in our hearts!
