The nation is celebrating the 71st Army Day today to remember the valiance and exemplary achievements of army personnel who risk their lives for the nation. Indian Army Day is celebrated on January 15 every year to mark the day when (then) Lieutenant General KM Cariappa took over from General Sir Francis Butcher as Commander-in-Chief of India on January 15, 1949.
Army Chief General Bipin Rawat said that the Indian Army will not hesitate to take strong action to deal with terror activities along the western border. The Army Chief said, “The country along our western border is providing support to terror groups. We are dealing with them effectively.”
J.P. Dutta’s seminal classic ‘Border’ was and still continues to be one of the most hard hitting patriotic produced in the Indian Film Industry. Here is a BSF Jawan who broke into a rendition of ‘Sandese Aate Hain’ and just melted not just the hearts of the soldiers around him, but all of the nation. It is service before self for the Indian Defence Forces, and this video describes the ache of staying away from home. This BSF Jawan singing is such a treat to watch on Indian Army Day-
