Mahendra Singh Dhoni Steps Down As ODI Captain & Cricket Fans Are Heartbroken

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has stepped down as Captain cool of the Indian cricket team in limited overs cricket, means from both One Day Internationals and the T20 Internationals formats of the game. Like as if his Test retirement was not shocker enough, this announcement has taken aback cricket fans altogether. However, mere respite is that he may be available as a player for the One Day matches.

Dhoni has been India’s most successful captain. Under his leadership, India have won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, the ICC ODI World Cup in 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy in 2013, besides reaching the top of the Test rankings in 2009. Dhoni led India in 199 ODIs, of which he won 110 and lost 74, and was captain in 72 Twenty20s, of which India won 41 and lost 28. His last series as captain came against New Zealand at home, where he led the Indian side to a 3-2 series win.
